Vanessa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong foundation in supporting children, families, and emerging professionals in the social work field. Originally from rural South Dakota, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Mary in 2012 and her Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University in 2020.

Vanessa brings extensive clinical experience to her role, including work with children with developmental disabilities and years of service in foster care and adoption. She specializes in supporting individuals from early childhood through adulthood with a focus on attachment, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and family dynamics.

In her clinical work, Vanessa incorporates a variety of interventions such as experiential play, sand tray, talk therapy, Brainspotting, and art-based approaches. 

As a group supervisor, Vanessa creates a collaborative, supportive space where supervisees can reflect on their practice, share insights, and learn from one another. She values openness, curiosity, and professional development, encouraging group members to engage in thoughtful discussion, challenge themselves, and grow both clinically and ethically. Her goal is to foster a learning environment where everyone feels heard, supported, and inspired to deepen their clinical skills.

Outside of supervision and clinical work, Vanessa enjoys spending time on her family’s farm, reading, crafting, cooking, and baking.
